SNAP Benefits, EBT, Double Up Food Bucks,  and Veteran Market Bucks

1. SNAP Tokens (Food or EBT)

  • What They Are: Used to purchase any SNAP-eligible food items.

  • What They Can Be Used For: * Any SNAP-eligible food items for home use.

    • Examples include: Fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, bread, baked goods, and seeds/food-producing plants.

2. Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB)

  • What They Are: Earned by customers when they use SNAP.

  • Value: $2 per token.

  • New for 2026! Up to $50 Match Per Day. Beginning May 1, 2026, customers can earn up to $50 in Double Up Food Bucks each day.

  • What They Can Be Used For: Strictly limited to:

    • Michigan-grown fruits and vegetables

    • Frozen produce

    • Fungi/mushrooms

    • Food-producing plants and seeds

3. Veteran Market Bucks

  • What They Are: Provided through the Kalamazoo County Veteran Voucher Program for eligible veterans.

  • Value: $2 per token.

  • What They Can Be Used For: Can only be used for food, including produce, baked goods, canned goods, etc.

Market Bucks

Market Bucks are available for purchase at the Farmers Market Office on market days can be purchased with a debit or credit card. Market Bucks come in $1, $5 and $10 bucks. Use your Market Bucks on any items from any Farmers Market vendors during the market. These Market Bucks are perfect gifts or even to budget your market spending!

NHBP FOOD FARMACY PROGRAM

Get FREE Fruits & Vegetables with a Produce Prescription!

  • Are you an NHBP Clinic Patient with a BMI of 30 or greater?

  • Are you looking to increase your fruit and vegetable intake?

You may be eligible to receive up to $100 in vouchers for fresh produce!

1. NHBP Tribal Elders Living within the CHSDA service areas of Allegan, Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Kent and Ottawa counties.

2. Must register to participate.

How It Works:
1. Starting in October 2026 Schedule a 1-on-1 appointment (in person or by phone) with a Health Educator or the Registered Dietitian.
2. Complete a short intake and survey, sign a consent form and set a personal health goal.
3.Receive a $50 voucher to a local farmers market.
4.Check in with NHBP staff 6 weeks later and receive an additional $50 voucher.
